Ahh, you have stolen my heart with this post. I often wish I had a lovely lilac bush in my yard- something to remind me of my grandmother whom I loved so dearly. Sadly, my feeble attempt to grow one perished in the horrific heat wave we had last year. But, just seeing these is a precious reminder of Grandma and the lovely smelling flower she adored so much.
Interestingly, lilac flowers are pretty good tasting, too. Our neighbor’s girls have been making redbud jelly and now lilac jelly! She said they made over 70 half pints yesterday of lilac jelly. They’ll be selling them at the Morris County Farmers Market beginning in May.
WOW beautiful. If I had to pay you a nickle for every picture I have used of your’s for my screen background, I would be broke!! Love your Kansas pictures. Thanks so much.
Lilacs are one of my favorite things about Spring!
