Merry Christmas, everybody! Or Happy Hanukkah, Kwanza, Festivus, whatever! Everyone has freedom to celebrate as they wish – it’s a free country! And a free country is something we should definitely celebrate, so party on, my friends.

Above are the Christmas hams cooked yesterday for Dave’s family gathering in Salina. The weather was great, the sun shining and the air warm (for December), and that made the driving there and back just wonderful yesterday.

Dave enlarged a photo of his mother’s parents and framed it nicely as a gift for his mom. She loved it.

She also loved her other gifts including this garden gnome from her granddaughter, Caitlin.

In the family gift exchange, Curt got a roll of toilet paper, with a strip of scratch lottery cards rolled into the paper.

Today, we figured a Chinese restaurant or two might be open, so we hit RuYi for lunch. Kung Pao Chicken for me. That was a lot of food and I brought most of it home.

Dave had RuYi’s Vietnamese Beef Noodle soup.

  1. Pho! Love that stuff. Hmm. Wonder if the Jade Garden, who will make food ahead that you can pick up in the drive-through, is open today. 😀

May all the days of your New Year be merry and bright!

  2. Glad to know that RuYi is open. Guess we will go there. We had one of our Christmas Dinners last eve and will have the turkey and all the rest tomorrow. Thanks for the information. We were wondering how much driving we would have to do before we found a place. 🙂
