Heather Mellott and Christine Pugh, as the Peri’s, will perform again this year.

Come to Leavenworth this weekend and be a part of the party to celebrate Kansas!

Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

At Ray Miller Park, 4201 S. 4th, in Leavenworth

(Adults $5; Children 7-14, $3; under six, admitted free.)

For more information, visit http://www.kansassampler.org/festival/

There will be music, historical performers, art, authors (me!), wine and beer tasting, and bierocks.

You can learn about the Kansas Scenic Byways, talk to people in various counties and learn what they have to offer.

Leavenworth is only two hours from Emporia. Just zip up the turnpike and get off at the Lansing/Leavenworth exit.

Be there as we sesquicentennialize Kansas to its fullest.

  1. Oh, Cheryl, I wish you hadn’t mentioned bierocks, which people tell me are almost the same thing as runzas, only different in shape. My husband used to bribe me into going to the races at Ak-Sar-Ben with offers of runzas.
