The cool thing about disasters or like today in Emporia when nature simply overdoes, is that people are eager to help someone out. Now I saw this guy drive by and his front wheel wasn’t moving, well before he applied his brakes. Apparently he had issues when he got to the corner and stopped.

Seeing he was having trouble, a gaggle of men jumped out of their trucks to assist. Now, if this were just a broken-down vehicle on a regular day, no one would even stop. But there’s something people respond to during a storm or some sort of natural disaster, there’s a sense of coming to the rescue, of being a hero, and we all like to feel that once in a while.

  1. We didn’t get that much snow on this edge of the state (2-3″ on the SW side of town). The traffic, however was a major mess with drive times between I435 and downtown KC in the 90 min or more range (normally a 20 min drive). Lots of cars in ditches and several reported upside down in different parts of town.

waiting for the 50’s predicted for the weekend!!!

    Stay safe out there

  2. 17 inches! EUREKA!
I wondered how they measure the snow or maybe it’s easier in town. In my yard, some places it’s only a few inches and some places (like a drift) it’s more like 3-4 feet!
