Kevin Rabas, winner of 2010 Kansas Notable Book Award.

On Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m., Kevin Rabas and I will each be reading from our books at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont, Lawrence, KS.

In September, Kevin received the Kansas Notable Book Award for his second book of poetry, Lisa’s Flying Electric Piano. His first book was Bird’s Horn and Other Poems.

Kevin Rabas co-directs the Creative Writing program at Emporia State University.

My first book was released at the end of August, Flyover People: Life on the Ground in a Rectangular State, a book of essays about Kansas. Each of those 80 essays have been published in The Emporia Gazette as part of my weekly column, also called Flyover People.

The event is co-sponsored by The Raven Bookstore of Lawrence, which will be handling book sales that evening.

If you live in the Lawrence area, I hope you’ll be able to attend. 🙂

At my book launch Sept. 1, Town Crier Bookstore, Emporia
