Closed on Mondays

Last Monday, my brother and mother and I went to Newton from Great Bend. On the return trip, we had hoped to visit the Underground Salt Museum in Hutchinson. We had forgotten that it was a Monday. I think every museum in the state of Kansas is closed on Mondays.

But, Dave has long wanted to go here, so this is something we’ll be able to explore together sometime in the future. I would’ve felt bad about going here without Dave.

    Look at all that room for murals. They should paint clouds on them. Birds, tops of trees,

    Janet, that would be contra to an underground salt museum. Are you suggesting the building should be “peppered” with above-ground images?

    Ah, I wasn’t thinking Roger. I just saw blue and gray and that beautiful sky with the clouds……… Maybe the murals should show underground scenes. hmmmm, dirt, rocks, the occasional little animal skeleton, salt… Then on top of the building put some giant boot and shovel sculptures.
