Elexa Dawson, manager of The Gallery at Cottonwood Falls, and folk musician.

The other day The Gallery at Cottonwood Falls, aka/Elexa Dawson, posted this on facebook:

“Fresh, Hot Cranberry White Chocolate Chip SCONES! Right now!”

I wanted one of those fresh, hot cranberry, white chocolate chip scones.  But I was 20 miles away. And busy. When we stopped in at The Gallery yesterday, I wasn’t hungry; Dave and I had just eaten lunch in Strong City. We came for my “fancy coffee.”  And I wanted to meet Elexa. I had heard her name in music circles before and I’m a fan of The Gallery on facebook.

Elexa Dawson is a musician. In her spare time, she plays with The Skirts. (Take a listen – they have a very nice sound.) They play acoustic folk music, some of their own songs, and have covered such artists as Lucinda Williams and Neil Young.

They serve hot and cold drinks and light lunches.

Chai. Spicy hot. Good.

The arty napkin holders are for sale. Made by JaNell Brown of Dwight.

Regional books for sale.

Photography and antiques for sale in the basement.

Paintings and antiques for sale on the main floor.

These paintings are by Dale Hartley. She has ceramics for sale here, too.

  1. That looks like a great little place! Don’t know why I’ve never gone in for a latte. Cranberry – white chocolate scones sound terrific. CFalls is an amazing little town.

  2. Looks like a wonderful place. Sounds like a likely FOP gather spot also. We gotta quit talking about it and start doing more of the gathers at more of these places.

  3. Is that a bookstore/coffeehouse/art gallery? It’s my dream, my fantasy! And what a wonderful building to have that in!

Hey, I’m going on vacation starting Friday, and except for the actual Memorial Day weekend, I’d be available for some of those FOP gatherings too, until the 7th of June. (Hint, hint). 🙂
