VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT
WILLIAM ALLEN WHITE HOUSE STATE HISTORIC SITE

EMPORIA, KS—The Kansas Historical Society announced it is looking for
volunteers to assist with a variety of duties at the William Allen White
House State Historic Site
, 927 Exchange, in Emporia.

“We are entering an exciting time of growth at the site,” said Nick
Gronseth, site administrator. “As a result of our promotional
activities, we anticipate more school groups and tourists visiting the
site in the near future.” He added that regardless of whether volunteers
want to work with visitors or stay behind the scenes, several
opportunities are available, including conducting tours, assisting with
mailings, performing clerical duties, or helping with large groups and
third party events.

information.

The William Allen White House State Historic Site is a National Historic
Landmark and is one of 16 state historic sites operated by the Kansas
Historical Society. The home is open for tours 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday –
Saturday and 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for
seniors and groups of 10 or more, $2 for students; and free for KSHS,
Inc. members, current military, and children five and under.
