Vinca & Iris
The vinca vine is happy near the back porch.
And a happy white iris.
Speaking of iris, you might want to head out to Toad Hollow this weekend.
Toad Hollow’s annual Iris Tour is on Mother’s Day weekend. Experience over 300 varieties of iris, from mini, border and tall-bearded types and in every color combination imaginable. At this time the peonies, poppies and larkspur will also be blooming. Explore the peaceful and colorful shade gardens full of hostas, columbine and other perennials. 620-343-8655.
The event is Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Directions: Exit at 135 on I-35. Head north to the T-intersection (about 1/4 mile), turn east and drive about 1/4 mile and it’s on the south side of the road.
