The River at Lakin

When we went to Colorado in mid-May, we checked out the Arkansas River at Lakin. Because it had been a wet winter and a wet spring, there was actually water in the river!
The battle with Colorado over who gets water has been going on for some time now. Since at least 1901.
Anyway, there was wet stuff on the river bed in May.
As I walked across the long river bridge to take photos, two people slowed down to see if I needed a ride into town - since our car was parked at the far end of the bridge. What nice people there are in Lakin.

Did Coolidge have a Calvinist church? Just kidding.
