On the square

A row of businesses on the south side of the courthouse square in Garnett. It was Sunday afternoon - everything was closed.
Garnett (pop. 3,368) is the county seat of Anderson County.
Flyover Friend Queen LaTuffa gave me the hometown tour which was a lot of fun, but it was too cold to get out of the car much. You sure see things with a resident that you’d never find on your own. More of those sights will be pictured here this week.

I like the way these older downtowns look. They’re just cozy or something.
I’m hoping for a personal tour from April too someday.
I’m not much of a tour guide. I realized I was answering”I don’t know” to a lot of Cheryl’s questions. We probably need to ask a “real” resident of Garnett instead of a transplant like myself. I’ve only been here for a couple of decades after all. Wish it weren’t so cold today I could have taken you to see if we could find a bit more stuff out in the county. Maybe next time you come I could arrange for you to see the Kirk house, the Harris house and the museum. Come during the week and we can visit the Walker art museum at the library.
