Lunch

A few Flyover Friends met for lunch at Amanda’s today.
Look at all the natural light in this room!
I’d already eaten lunch, but I was psyched to try the “ultimate brownie.” Amanda said she started to make some this morning, but got busy. So, no brownies….

Ah mus’ say, my half sandwich was amazing. That bread is wonderful. I too want to try the ultimate brownie, but I can’t eat a whole one. I would only want about 1/4 of one. So, if anyone wants only 3/4 an ultimate brownie, I’m your gal to go to Amanda’s with.
Sneaky Cheryl. I saw your camera there beside you today and wondered when you were going to start snapping. Musta been when I was napping.
Oh, and by the way, the sunflower wheat bread was to die for. Soft and sturdy at the same time. Not a bit dry or stiff. Tasty and that bit of texture from the sunflower seeds…. just too yummy. I may be spending a lot on gas just to come have sandwiches at Amanda’s. I’ve been shopping at Sutherlands, think I may just get the whole darn bathroom there if it means I can stop and get lunch too.
Thank you all for your patronage, it truely is a pleasesure to meet all of the wonderful people who come in every day. We hope you enjoy your time at the cafe.
About those ultimate brownies
sorry about that they are pretty labor intensive with the brownie and the cream cheese and the marshmellows. Sometimes she just doesnt get every step done before people stop in and the day begins. We will try to get you one ASAP Cheryl

A great story about this wonderful new business in Emporia!!!!!!!!
Amanda’s is absolutely positively THE place for lunch! I’ve tried the veggie sandwich and the panini and look forward to eating my way through the rest of the menu (at least the non-sugar parts of it; no brownies for me!).
I agree that the sunflower wheat is fantastic and am happy to report that the Tuscan bread for the panini is also magnificent. I remember trying to get Chad to do a rustic Italian bread when he was at Three Fools - it was the one bread I wanted that they didn’t do. I’ve really missed Three Fools. Thank goodness (and Amanda and Alex) there’s now a great place for bread in Emporia!
And I look forward to trying the soups! I had been hoping Amanda would do the tomato-basil that was so heavenly at Three Fools, and am glad to see she is - or at least her own version of it! And it’s now soup weather too!!! Yay!!!
