It is fall, after all…

… We can expect to see a lot of dead stuff. I photographed these at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve near Strong City last weekend.

  1. It is not dead, it is ripe! There is more life stored in the seeds of the plants shown than existed in the fresh green parent plant.

  2. It’s not death, it’s potential. It’s the promise of a bright and colorful Spring. It’s the sacrifice the parent blossom made to produce offspring that we’ll so appreciate next year.
