In the cold of winter, Kansas landscape artist Louis Copt, holds a hot paintbrush and pushes flames around.

“Fire in the Sky” is one of the pieces he’s painted for a show in March at the Leopold Gallery, 324 West 63rd Street, Kansas City, MO. The show opens with a reception on March 14.

Meanwhile, Louis has work on display at 6 Gallery in downtown Lawrence, 716 1/2 Massachusetts, through Feb. 22. The show’s theme is “Inner Journeys.”

  1. OOOOOOO!AAAAHHHH!OOOOOHHHHH! I had to really look at that to see it was a painting and not a photo. I thought it was one of Dave’s.

  3. You guys are too kind. I wish I could create work at that level. He’s one of my heroes and favorite artists. I just stand back in awe and appreciate his accomplishments.
