Eight Wonders of Kansas
J. Schafer included this in his newscast this morning on Kansas Public Radio and, heck, it’s also a good thing to post on Flyover People.
The Kansas Sampler Foundation is taking nominations from the public for the Eight Wonders of Kansas through May 15.
A Wonder will be selected for each of the eight rural culture elements as promoted by the Foundation: Art, Commerce, Cuisine, Customs, Geography, History and People.
Public input will close on May 15, voting will take place until the end of the year and the winner will be announced by Gov. Sebelius on Kansas Day 2008.
The Kansas Sampler Foundation has complete information.

This will be exciting. Rest assured that I will nominate the “Sage of Emporia” and related sites.
I nominated the whole town of Lucas, Kansas for the Art Wonder.
This 8 Wonders idea was absolutely genius, and I think it will create a true, long-lasting cultural advantage for Kansas. Best idea I think I’ve seen since I got here 12 years ago!

Great way to promote Kansas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And from the total list are going to be also wonderful areas to promote in Kansas!!!!!
This was discussed this morning on KVOE also. Abilene should fit into one of those categories, methinks.
