A better rut

I was wishing I could show you all better photos of the Santa Fe Trail wagon ruts at Black Jack and then magically an e-mail appears from a stranger, Tom Porter of Olathe, who took these photos in January, 2004.
Tom wrote: I have been ‘lurking’ on the FOP site for awhile and very much enjoy it. I thought you might like to see these shots of the Black Jack wagon ruts. The angle of the winter sun and the grasses being down really lets them stand out. Feel free to use them if you wish…

Yeah. Wow. Much better view of those old ruts.

Thank you, Tom!
And he sent a great mapquest aerial of the ruts. If I can get that posted, I will.

Thank you, Tom Porter; and thank you Cheryl. I’ve seen a portion of the Oregon Trail in Wyoming, but seeing Sante Fe Trail ruts in my native state is even more facinating.
I think I’ve seen these before. I can’t remember though. I know I’ve seen ruts and historical battle grounds before but I was young and can’t remember exactly where.
They are all very neat though! Thanks Tom and Cheryl!
