Kite & Son Machine Works. A closed shop in Garnett.
I just loved the look of this building. I could imagine so much just from the outside. It just had to be a guy-hangout with tools everywhere, sparks sailing from a welder, lots of rusted metal lying around.

A row of businesses on the south side of the courthouse square in Garnett. It was Sunday afternoon - everything was closed.
Garnett (pop. 3,368) is the county seat of Anderson County.

Who knows where this courthouse stands?
UPDATE: Roger knew. It’s the Anderson County Courthouse in Garnett - designed by George P. Washburn, the architect for some of the best Kansas courthouses.

UPer’s Diner is open now at 1015 Commercial. Dave and I had the featured dish on the menu - a pasty: ground beef, potato and onion in a pastry crust ($4). This was a one-pound pasty. Quite a bit of food here.
They’ll have ribs after the first of the year.
