But, there were no carnivals in Central Kansas in the ’60s - well none I got to see. Only went to the State Fair twice as a youngster. So, I love the flashing lights and the carneys and the the excitement of the carnival.

Carnival color

There’s always a lot of color at the carnival.
When I was in 4-H, in Pawnee County, we didn’t have a carnival. It was just steers and rabbits, photography, woodworking and clothing projects. No Ferris wheels, no rides, no cotton candy.
