Wally

Last night on “Leave it to Beaver, Wally Cleaver cracked me up:
“That’s the way it is with girls. You’d think nobody could throw a baseball the creepy way that they do. But they do.”

help a soldier

Help out the wounded soldiers. Send ‘em a box of freezer pops. Or other goodies.
Sherry Hertlein from Emporia is asking for donations. Read the details in The Gazette.
Pick up a flat rate box (boxes are free) from the Post Office. You can put anything that will fit into the box (well, except for contraband and [...]

good luck

If you’re coming to Emporia, good luck.
Now coming to Emporia on K-99, from the north or the south, no problem. Coming to Emporia from the east on I-35/US50, no problem.

The battle with Colorado over who gets water has been going on for some time now. Since at least 1901.
Anyway, there was wet [...]

Kansas v. Darwin

Saw this posted on Peg Britton’s blog … a new documentary from Kansas filmmakers, Kansas vs. Darwin.

Walgreens

Walgreens opened in Emporia last Friday. It’s at the corner of 15th and Industrial - which makes it a good quarter-mile closer than Wal-Mart. And, you don’t have to park a block from the store like you do at Wal-Mart. And, you don’t have to step foot in Wal-Mart. Three benefits right there.
I didn’t go [...]

goings on
