Marquette is one of those super neato small towns. We were there before 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning, so everything was closed. We’ll have to go back and visit the town when we can go inside some of these places. I took this through the door. I think there’s a soda fountain in there. …

The tree
Behind the Greenwood Hotel in Eureka, I found these old places. What grabbed my attention was the tree. Old downtowns used to have big trees right close to the businesses. I like that. Most downtowns these days are so stark – all cement and brick.
