For those keeping up with Steve Graham’s wardrobe, here’s what he was wearing at the Farmers Market on Wednesday afternoon. Cool, huh?

Bill & Jane sing

July 23rd, 2011 at 9:16 am

This morning at the Emporia Farmers Market – Bill Ihling and Jane McCoy sing “Strawberry Wine.” I should’ve taken my flip video recorder so y’all could hear how great they sounded. The market was a crowded, busy place. Lots of vendors, lots of veggies and fruit, lots of customers. I brought home cantaloupe, watermelon, fresh [...]

Ladybug Flowers

Yesterday, some friends and I went to a writing retreat in Baldwin City. We found a lovely farmers market in progress downtown. Flowers and corn-on-the-cob and delicious-looking baked goods.

Farmers Market May 28

May 28th, 2011 at 8:50 am

Swiss chard, beets and cabbage make a colorful palette at the Emporia Farmers Market this morning. Do you want to be the most popular vendor at the farmers market? Plant asparagus. When I took this photo before the bell rang, there were more people in line than Bob Karr’s few bundles of asparagus. I think [...]

May Market

May 14th, 2011 at 8:36 am

It was 46 degrees when I headed out to the Farmers Market this morning in Emporia. It’s the second week for the outdoor market this year (we had an indoor one over the winter!) I didn’t make it last week because I was in Leavenworth, but this morning, there were customers and vendors and vegetables [...]

More Market pics

In honor of St. Patrick, Tracey Graham was greened-up and selling green things at today’s Farmers Market in downtown Emporia. She even fancied up some flip-flops in green. Jane McCoy and Eric Martin sounded fabulous. It wasn’t just me who thinks so, everyone one was saying, “Aren’t they great?” Linda Simmons’ peanut butter cookies. I [...]

Great music this morning from Jane McCoy and Eric Martin at  the Emporia Winter Farmers Market, 701 Commercial. The market is open until 1 pm today. Jane sings the Norah Jones song “Don’t Know Why.”

more of Steve’s wardrobe

Steve Graham in yet another of his Hawaiian shirts. Now that he’s modeled this one, he’ll have to put it at the back of the closet and pull out a different one for the next Farmers Market.

Special Edition Shirts

August 14th, 2010 at 3:57 pm

Steve Graham wasn’t wearing his usual Hawaiian shirt this morning at the market. He had slipped back into the ’60s in this groovy tie-dyed shirt with the Emporia Farmers Market logo. Special edition Farmers Market shirts are available – but there’s a limited supply. If they didn’t sell out this morning, you may have a [...]

Another shirt

July 26th, 2010 at 7:31 am

I’ve been so busy and I’ve gotten way behind on my picture posting. Here’s Steve posing with another of his cool shirts. I’m not sure if this was from last Wednesday or Saturday – I’m lost in my own world these days. Here’s the rest of his collection that I’ve recorded.

The Orchard Man

July 20th, 2010 at 5:22 am

I had a chance to visit with Bob Karr of The Orchard at Saturday’s Farmers Market. Don’t remember what he was talking about here, but maybe it was his trip to Finland. Since the weather can wreak havoc on his orchard, I asked him how the apples were coming along this year. “It’s a branch-breaking [...]
