Today’s Flyover People column as seen in The Emporia Gazette: AT THE CAR SHOW At the Cruisin’ the Campus event recently, classic cars were parked along the circle drive at Emporia State University. I stuck my head inside of an old Chevrolet and remembered the car interiors of my youth: the metal dashboard, AM …
Kansas Talking Books
Today’s Flyover People column as seen in The Emporia Gazette: KANSAS TALKING BOOKS I recently spent a number of hours in a recording studio. No, I wasn’t singing – nobody wants to hear that. I recorded my book “Flyover People” for Kansas Talking Books. It was a fun process and I was glad to be …
ESU 1863
On the floor as you walk in the east door of the ESU Memorial Union. The Union is still undergoing it’s renovation, but a lot of the work has been completed now, and it’s nice. Very classy and it’s a building that ESU can be very proud of.
Food fest
At ESU’s International Food Festival on March 3, I purchased some food from the Japanese table. The menu was helpful. Teriyaki Chicken Sushi. The matcha rolled cakes was tasty, not overly sweet. Red beans on cake is pretty good. Who knew?
Plumb Hall at Night
Emporia State University’s Plumb Hall.

ESU’s new front door
I was at the ESU Union this morning. The interior is still in the remodeling process, but the east side has been done for awhile and it looks marvelous. And it was such a clean (and warm) day for a photo.
Plumb Hall
I took some photos of EUS’s Plumb Hall a couple of weeks ago when I was there to speak to a class. It was definitely fall then. Today, I think we’re doing the switchover to winter.

It’s a team photo because they work together sending up the kite and camera and taking photos by remote control. You can see more of their photos on the Abers’ website, Geospectra, …
