St. Teresa Catholic Church, Westphalia

Old building next to the newish Catholic church. I’m guessing this is a rectory and it probably matched a big old church.

Faith Community Church

July 1st, 2010 at 5:41 am

This is not your grandfather’s Poor Farm. What once was the Barton County Poor Farm is now a well-cared for building on the Faith Community Church campus just west of Great Bend.

The church’s sanctuary and family center are housed in the metal building there on the left.

The entrance is on Sixth Street (there’s a side door). It was a Sunday morning when I took the photos and there were eight or nine cars here.

Last night, Dave and I went to a chili and soup supper at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. This snow-packed sunflower added a bit of Kansas Day to the event.

I went for the potato soup while Dave enjoyed the chili.

Coconut cream pie. Mmmm.
