Kuchera’s Mild Salsa is now available at Reeble’s South in Emporia. And at Gene’s Heartland Foods and Barleycorns in Wamego (Drew’s original hometown.)

I first met Drew Kuchera last year at the Emporia Farmers’ Market and have been enjoying Kuchera’s salsa ever since. I don’t buy any other brand anymore. Kuchera’s is it.

I’ve followed Drew this past year as he’s built up his business. He’s about as dedicated and determined as they come.

Today’s Emporia Gazette has the story: Local foods entrepreneur obtains licensing for salsa sales

Last week, I stopped in at the shared use commercial kitchen in Emporia where Drew Kuchera (above) and his family and friends were making his first batch of commercially-produced salsa. (The very same salsa that you see in the first picture – the display at Reeble’s.)

I don’t have the recipe, but I can tell you there are onions in it. I helped Tracy Simmons peel and cut them.

Peppers.

And I guess I didn’t photograph the green peppers.

  1. How exciting! We are definitely going to have to buy some. You have probably heard me say, “No one makes salsa as good as our daughter”, but I will not be closed minded. We love to have Salsa on hand and our daughter doesn’t can it – she just makes a few batches and we eat them immediately. However, her recipe is AWESOME!
Congratulations to Drew. We love to see our young people in new businesses.

Onnalee, thanks for the reply. I’ll have to try some of your daughters salsa! Can’t wait to hear some feedback from you when you try mine. I’ll be attending the Emporia Farmer’s Market this year. I’m also stocked in South Reebles in Emporia, KS, Gene’s Heartand Foods in Wamego, Ks, and Barleycorn’s sandwich shop in Wamego as well.

All of my products can be found at http://www.kucheras.com . I ship nationwide. Also have a fan page on Facebook under “Kuchera’s” Thanks! 🙂
