Broadcasting Hall, Kansas Public Radio, University of Kansas, Lawrence

Tonight (Sunday), at 8 p.m., Kaye McIntyre’s show on Kansas Public Radio, KPR Presents, will feature 7 of the 15 2011 Kansas Notable Book Award winners.

The show airs tonight and yours truly be on the program right at 8 p.m. CDT, when the show begins.

Last November, when Kevin Rabas and I gave a reading at the Lawrence Public Library, Kaye recorded Kevin at that event because she was doing a show about the 2010 Kansas Notable winners of which Kevin was one. And, she decided to go ahead and record me, too, just for her archives.

Anyway, so something I read at that event will be aired, plus she interviewed six other current Kansas Notable Book Award winners.

I’m not sure who will all be on tonight’s show, but I do know these three will be on: Beverley Buller, Clare Vanderpool, and Lana Wirt Myers.

The other eight authors will be on the Sept. 4 edition of KPR Presents.

KPR is 99.5 Manhattan, 91.5 Lawrence, 89.7 Emporia, 91.3 Junction City.

If you’re not within radio-range of Kansas Public Radio, you can listen online. Here’s a link to the listen page, click on KPR-1 button on the left side.

  1. Congratulations on your award Cheryl, your book is always checked out at the Ness City Public Library & after reading the book patrons purchase copies as gifts. It’s one of my favorite books to recommend when asked “what have you got good that I can read”!
