While attending the Kansas Sampler Festival in Leavenworth earlier this month, five of us found our way to Luigi’s Italian Restaurant for dessert, after having a delicious meal at Baan Thai. (There’s good food to be found in Leavenworth.)
Luigi’s is at 700 Cherokee in Leavenworth.
Cannolis, tiramisu, and….
… Limoncello.
This limoncello with a light taste of the raspberry sauce was absolutely incredible. My, oh, my. This dessert alone is worth a two-hour trip to Leavenworth.

Looks and sounds like a desert we enjoyed in Sorrento, Italy – Delizia al Limone. Photo at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kansasexplorer3128/5093363403/. I must get up there (Luigi’s) to eat soon.
Okay, I was resisting just fine until the last frame: the Limoncello looks amazing! Road trip may just be in store. The kids will be out of school soon so a day trip maybe.
Is the Limoncello lemon or lime? Dumb question but the name sounds like Lime but it looks like lemon.
It was definitely lemon. And I’m not a big fan of lemon cakes, but this was absolutely fabulous. Light and heavenly.
Ladies! I’m so glad you enojoyed your trip to visit us at Luigi’s! I was your waitress, and you all were a BLAST! Come by ANY time! And I’ll whip you up some more cannoli’s! (:
