Christmas, frosted

sugar cookie

I love frosted sugar cookies.

(Dreamy flashback music) I think it all started back in 1978 at Joe’s Bakery in Lawrence. Everyone loved Joe’s hot donuts (10 cents each) which were fine, but I went to Joe’s for the cookies. In the decades since I graduated, my trips to Lawrence often included a stop at Joe’s – but not anymore – Joe’s closed in 2007

But yay, all is not lost, Flyover friend Elebrown made these cookies and they are perfection – nice and thick, colorful and tasty. Thank you, ele!

I just ate some that my coworker and her three yr old daughter made last night. Yummy!

Hey, I was a KU student in the late 60s-early 70s, and you better believe I’ve eaten my share of Joe’s donuts! Don’t remember cookies, though. I was so disappointed to learn they were gone. Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky…
