Our Ele, mobbed by the press after the big announcement this afternoon.

Eleanor Browning is the Emporia 2010 Master Teacher of the Year! Read more about Ele and her award here.

And more of Dave’s photos are on the USD 253 home page.

No surprise. Ele loves teaching, loves those kids, loves teaching them reading.

And besides that, Ele is just one of the finest human beings on the planet.

Way to go Eleanor! I worked “with you” many years ago in Neosho Rapids. I helped with Heather. You were/are so much fun and good at what you do! Obviously I am not the only one who thinks so!!!!

Congrats on your award. My wife is a teacher-counselor that had to retire early 5 years ago due to her health. She misses the kids.

Hey, thank you for all the kind words! I’m still in a state of “surprise!”
Yes, Peggy, I remember you–do you still sign?? And, dear Max, your daughters were delightful and very bright!
Thank you, Dave & Cheryl for your photos & kind words! –but I’m also sure that there are other teachers more deserving than I am….

Sure, there are other great teachers, but this is YOUR year to be recognized, ele. The thing that is so exciting about you is how much you love teaching, how much joy you get out of bring in the presence of the kids.
