Mad Greek

Speaking of food, because everyone is today, on Saturday while in Lawrence I stopped in at the Mad Greek. It’s one of my favorite spots. A couple years ago, there was a spell when it wasn’t up to par, but my two past visits have been good.

Spanakopita, spinach trianges. Yum.

That’s phyllo dough that’s used to make the crust. It’s a thin, thin papery dough. You can buy it in the grocer’s freezer.

The thing about “phyllo”–or at least when I’ve used phyllo–is that you butter each thin layer! calories, calories, calories, but it’s like cheese, I think. I think that anything you put cheese on (like sauerkraut pizza, for example) is great! Same thing with phyllo–ummmmmmmmmmmmm.

I love that place too! That spanakopita, the baba ganoush, the mousaka, the dolmas, the everything!

And if you have room for dessert…baklava! Opa!
