    Yellville is named for an early Arkansas Governor, Archibald Yell.

    This picture is funny on more than one level. Good to know the history, and I will check the link. But the imagination story is likely better. LOL

    Thanks for posting that link. There are towns out there that I wish I knew the history of the name of the town.

    I’ll bet old Archibald really got a lot of razzing about his name, poor thing. The picture that comes to mind about Yellville’s pre-telephone communications is a hoot. Or maybe a yell (Oh good grief, that was bad).
