I rode the Kansas Turnpike to Cassoday (pop. 95-ish) and jumped off there. Here’s the Cassoday Country Store.
Cassoday is in Butler County in the heart of the Flint Hills.
Flint Hills Elementary.
Where the Methodists hang out.
Now the Cassoday Cafe has been closed for awhile, but I noticed construction work at the back of the building and there was a note soaped onto the window that mentioned something about being “under construction.”
Cassoday Antiques.
You know how like when your typewriter carriage gets stuck and your paper shows double-strikes – well, maybe that’s what happened here.
Cassoday’s historical museum is located in the old Santa Fe Depot.
Are the chickens still living in the dog house at the gas station???????
I dunno, Flips, but that’s a great line. 🙂
I didn’t stop, just pulled into the parking lot for the photo.
I can’t remember the chickens names any more——–then I thought to myself—how many people know the names of two chickens that live in a dog house at a Gas station in Cassoday, Ks. USA??????
Does that say I’m COUNTRY or what????????? 🙂
Hoping the cafe opens again soon. Thanks for the post.
