The Kansas Union.

At the main entrance, you’ll find this happy guy. The Jayhawk.

These two photos are of the back of the Union. That structure on the far left is a relatively new parking garage.

  1. I sometimes joke that KU couldn’t operate without Emporia State graduates. So many Hornets have played significant roles at KU, particularly in the Student Afairs arena.

My fraternity brother Rueben Perez is the director of the Student Involvement & Leadership Center. Rueben oversee 500+ clubs/organizations, Greek Life, Resources for LGBT and Non-Trad students, Leadership Education & Development (KU LEAD), Women’s Resource Center, and lots more.

The director of the Kansas Union sometime back was Jim Long. Jim hired me back in 1970 as a student graphic artist when he was director of activities at KSTC.

Rich Morel was registrar for a number of years. Many others Hornets over the years have shaped the quality of life at KU.
