Downtown Baldwin City

May 27th, 2008 at 8:59 am

The Post Office. 66006.

Two boys playing with a newspaper. “We’re making a ship!” one told me.

I’m always happy to see kids with a working imagination.

The Art Affair Gallery.

The public library is conveniently located downtown.

Baldwin City has a charming streetscape, lots of bricks and nice details like the street lamps.

Whitney’s Creative Hair Designs. Barber and Beauty Shop.

This was an active place – even at 2 p.m. on the Saturday afternoon I was there.

I’ve never been to Baldwin City. In these pictures it looks like a crisp, clean town, well loved, well cared for. I just love it that you actually found a couple of children sitting in public building a ship out of newspaper. That’s a good sign, I tell ya.

Larry and i will have to go there one day.
