Cimarron

Cimarron, pop. 2.029, is the county seat of Gray County. It’s about half way between Dodge City and Garden City on U.S. 50.

It’s not important to anyone else, but I keep wanting to spell Cimarron with two m’s and one r.

Clark Drug Store has a nice soda fountain.

Twenty-six seniors graduated this year, as shown on this poster in the window at Clark’s Drug Store. Two boys in this class had already died.

I love the picture of the soda fountain! I can’t remember the last time I saw one like that. Soda fountains are just about nonexistent where I live-the drugstores were bought out by the big chains – bleagh! And I bet the milkshakes are delicious there too! You all had better hold on to the little places like Clark’s Drug Store. Corporations will be the death of us.

Years ago when we ate at Clark’s Drug Store in Cimarron & we had triple decker sandwiches —-Tuna Salad layer & pimento cheese layer with lettus between the layers & cut with tooth picks holding the layers together!!!!!!!
A slice of dill pickle & & chips on the side & a fresh squeezed limeade!!!!!!!
    It was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!
We enjoyed our selves so much- & we shopped at the antique shop after lunch not far from the drug store! Don’t know if it is still open or not!!!
Don’t know if they still make triple decker sandwiches there any more or not-but if you happen to stop in some time—–ask- — as they were certainly very good!!!!!!!!!

I too love that soda fountain picture. Look at the teens all sitting at one table. Brings back memories of the 50s and 60s.
