The Good Old Days

Single-digit temperatures. Sub-zero wind chills. Icy parking lots.

I could go for a 99-degree day right about now. One of those days when you have to eat your ice cream cone quickly so that it doesn’t get your hand all gooey and sticky. One of those days when your sweat-soaked shirt sticks to the car seat. One of those days when the sidewalk is too hot to walk on with bare feet. Yep, that’s what I want.

Today is Groundhog Day … when the beginning of spring is determined by the insecurities of a burrowing mammal.

No way! LOL I’d rather be cold than be at 99 degrees in Kansas. Give me 99 degrees in the Western desert, that I could handle.

Ah well, no matter how we wish, the weather is what it is. I’m ready for about 68 to 70 degrees, slight breeze, medium humdity, sunny day……

According to the current weather report you are about ten degrees colder than we are in the Indy area. My golf clubs sit in the corner, waiting as I do for the temp to rise into the 50s.
The sun is shining here, which helps. Spring will be here soon. Tell me it will. Meanwhile, may we all stay warm.

RAR, it will be Spring soon, sooner than we are used to, because Cheryl has personally declared March 1 to be the first day of Spring, for which I’m personally very grateful.

Speaking of golf, Larry and I drove up to Topeka once and saw some people playing golf in the rain on a cold day!

They keep making daylight savings time earlier. Why not Spring?

Yeah, why not an early Spring? Cheryl says March 1, I say how about Feb. 22, so we could celebrate it along with George Washington’s birthday.
But alas, the only way we are going to be warm, with no snow or ice is to go where it’s warm, with no snow or ice. But then I fantasize, which is not all bad….
