Shrine Bowl Parade

PARADES 'R' US

No one loves a parade like a Shriner. It's nearly impossible to find a parade around Kansas that doesn't have fez-wearing men stuffed into tiny cars.

Masons by the hundreds came to Emporia on Saturday, July 31, for the Shriners Parade and the 31st annual East-West Kansas Shrine Bowl at Emporia State University's Welch Stadium.

The Kansas Shrine Bowl raises funds for the Shriners hospitals, which provide free orthopedic and burn care treatment to children.

Elements of a Shriners parade: Color, energy, and a sense of humor.

This parade ran in the opposite direction of most Emporia parades. It started at 12th Ave. and headed south on Commercial Street to 4th Ave.
